The Cost Accountant plays a crucial role in the financial management of a manufacturing company by analyzing and controlling costs associated with production processes. This position involves the preparation and maintenance of cost data, ensuring accurate reporting and compliance with financial regulations. The Cost Accountant collaborates with various departments to identify cost-saving opportunities, improve operational efficiency, and support strategic decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Overseeing the daily operations of the cost accounting function. This includes ensuring the accuracy of cost accounting data, analyzing variances, developing and maintaining cost accounting systems, and providing support to management in making sound business decisions
- Analyzing production costs and preparing routine reports that compare standard costs with actual production costs, cost trend analysis
- Cost Analysis consisting of: variance analysis and identifying the root cause, profitability analysis, by-product analysis
- Analysis of inventory levels, turnover, and reserve analysis
- Supervising physical inventory counts and cycle counting procedures
- Collaborate with other departments, such as production, purchasing, and sales, to collect and analyze cost data

Supporting management in pricing strategy with cost simulation
Must Have
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting (Management Accounting)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in cost accounting or management for manufacturing companies
- A strong understanding of cost accounting principles and practices
- Mastering spreadsheets (Excel or Google Sheets) for analysis
- Detail-oriented and has good accuracy
